Past, Present, Future —— Cannot be Attained
2024,24 × 24 inch, 24×48 inch×2
The idea of this triptych comes from a Buddhist verse: The past cannot be attained, the present cannot be attained, and the future cannot be attained. The underlying idea is that there is no such perfect point that we can catch, the truth and nature are the change and unperfect itself. In this triptych, I plan to use an image of the mountain as a metaphor for the truth, something that sure, a utopia we thought existed, or freedom we want to catch. The running water (river), runs from either side, left and right, could be seen as a symbol of the running time, the life of a human, or the change of the world, a process of growth and extinction.
